Looking for a good set of install instructions.......with pics? The Bethania site is sorely lacking and I like to see pics.

Also, since I'm putting fixed backs and harnesses in the car, I've been reading the instructions about keeping the seat belt reel between the bar and the car..........can I remove the seat belt from the reel? I have no intention of leaving the stock belts in the car.

Will this all become obvious once I actually start? I just like to try to get an idea of what I'm up against before I start.

If'n you have no intention of using the seat belts again, just remove the whole assembly and throw a washer between the bar and body. Stock belts and an HD bar are a PITA.

Scrape away any seam sealer that would be between the mounting plate and the car's body.

You can see the seat belt assembly behind the bracket in this photo.

Seat belt top pivot is not mounted to the roll bar tab in this photo.

It's all pretty obvious once you get in there. Just don't try to install it with the seats in place, and I recommend waiting until the next day to attack the interior trim pieces. Hit them when you're fresh.

Some guy wrote a book a while back that has pics

I don't know if I'll bother with the trim pieces........I just got done completely removing the soft top since I'm going to do the project G bikini top.

I'll have to look at your book (I own it ), I've been too focused on the rear suspension and finishing it today.

Trust me, it's worth the extra work to trim out the carpet and interior pieces carefully. As Keith says, its an excellent "second day" portion of the project, and really gives a nice, finished look when its done. You'll be glad you put the time into it.

You'll need to log in to post.
