Key difference being is that's not an SCCA race. While I don't make excuses for over aggressive driving in any series it's especially egregious at the amateur level.

Apparently a lot of long time front running spec miata drivers beat up today including one helicoptered from track.
I was wondering why they turned only 1 lap. Expected that was it.
According to some accounts, a couple got together up front in the kink and the rest of the field barreled into them.

So the SPEC Miata's can't even get through a qualifying session without smashing into each other, nice.

Second. I'm impressed that the driver of the 46 car was able to tuck in to traffic without causing another collision.
