So I was all hard up for the S600. I wanted it bad. I drove the it last night, it was GLORIOUS! Agreed on price ($200 below her asking price) and set a time to come back today and do the transaction.
She called me 20 minutes later and said someone bought it! I wasn’t happy, but nothing I could do....
Except something dumb (I am me after all)
I bought this:
This gets prettier and prettier the more I look at it. How do you keep your hands off those curves long enough to stay married?

Mind paying the check, I left my wallet.... IN THE JAAAAAAG.
Seriously though, sharp as hell. Last of the classic Jag style.
Don't even get me started on that body style.
(Beautiful!)
Those are one of the very few cars I would break my no auto rule for. Many years ago I took one for a test drive and fell in love, except for the then $40,000 price tag.
Enjoy.
Beautiful! And you have the Asteroid wheels. Mine has the plain old boring Pentastars. Fun, fun. Kind of like an M5 with an automatic. :)
The funny part is that this will probably end up being cheaper to maintain than a V12 Merc.
That is sort of what I was thinking. Less computer stuff.
Oh man that's one that's been on the list for a long time.
Absolutely gorgeous.
Jaguars and Maseratis...
...you have some serious issues to work out with yourself.

This. From everything I hear, there will be less incidents of repair necessary and the cost per repair will be less. I tried desperately to steer the wife towards one of these, or even an XK, when we bought her last car. She ended up with an E350 and I am sure we will rue the day the extended warranty expires. I'm still determined to own an XK at some point.

Absolutely beautiful. Along with my E38 Sport, one of my favorite sedans of the last 50 years. Fast, comfy, agile, and surprisingly reliable. Enjoy it in good health!
I hate to say it, but you got the more reliable car.. ?????

So is the NASA program, and the average F1 team.
I've just updated my Craigslist favorite searches...

Dumb? No! You made an excellent decision.
You bought the better car. That lady accidentally did you a favor!
Thanks for that; I've spent all afternoon shopping for XJ8's on AutoTrader.
And here I thought you were talking about this.

I still think Jags from this era are some of the best looking cars of all time. Nice.

Knocking on all of my beautiful burled wood... My XJR has run like a top. It has been fantastically reliable. I do have one weird issue where the rear seat air vents keep popping out of the console, but I have spent something like four minutes remembering to research that over the last year and change.
But, yeah, nothing doesn't work and it purrs (quietly). I love my Jaaaaag.
I'd post a pic of mine, too, but it is proper British racing green and I don't want to take any of m4ff3w's well deserved thunder away ;)
