Does anyone out there have the wiring diagram for the older (gold colored box) Crane Hi-6 ignition? I have the info for the newer ones but they are not the same. Crane went up the spout, S&S Cycles acquuired the bike and electronics stuff but they haven't gotten all the info yet, tech people were great but won't have anything for a week or so. Please if you have the info for the old Hi 6 stuff please let me know. Thanks

I have instructions for the Crane XR700 and XR3000 OPTICALLY TRIGGERED IGNITION SYSTEM Part Numbers 700-0226, 700-0231, 700-0292, 700-0300, 700-0309, 700-6231, 720-0231, 3000-0226, 3000-0231, 3000-0292 If they would help.

Thanks for the offer, I'll have to check, but I am pretty sure all those numbers are for the actual distributor units, I've used the xr 300's to trigger all kinds of things. I have to check numbers on my boxes to see if any line up, the 3000 is a possibility I think. I'll get back to you and let you know. Thanks for the help, much appreciated

Still looking for help with Crane HI-6 ignition, pn 6000-6420, my wires are not the same as only diagram I can find, it has no white "points" wire and a pair of shielded red and black wires, no mag trigger wires. Driving me nuts, well more nuts........
I've seen one of those Crane units before. The guy I was helping could not get it to work. I couldn't get it to work right in an afternoon of helping, and I'm pretty good at that kind of thing. I suggested he buy a MSD6a. He did and had it working in an hour.
I'm going to guess one of those pairs of shielded wires is for your mag pickup. I think that some time on the bench with aligator clips, battery, a loose dizzy, a coil and a spark plug would get it figured out, if it can be done at all, which I still have my doubts on. Maybe there was a reason Crane went under.
LOL you are probably right. I've used their triggers in a lot of projects with good success, I got this pair of HI-6's with someone else's abandoned project. I did some bench testing and fiddling and am pretty sure you are right about the shielded wires. I have a couple of MSD 6A's laying around and will use them instead; I've never had any problem with their stuff and their tech support people are exceptional. Thanks to all for the help
