Sorry, say what you want, but I need another one. Must be 1977 or older, and have an engine no larger than 3.0l, and preferably under $15k. I'm partial to 2500M's, but will consider all. I'm having trouble even finding anything for sale except a couple very over-priced 2500M's in Missouri (silver and red - don't bother posting those), which is why I need your help! Thanks in advance!
Nothing on Seattle's craigslist and nothing on the Hungarian auto trader.
There's this one in Germany I could look at. I think the ad says the registration is Hungarian so I might even be able to have a conversation with the owner

Would you be willing to consider importing one? I can hit up a few friends in the UK if they know of any for sale that worth having.
I searched every craigslist in the country, ebay, TVR owners clubs. I'm starting to see why the Missouri one is overpriced.
I think watching BringAtrailer is going to be your best bet.
I probably should have mentioned that I already exhausted all the typical sources, like CL, Ebay, Auto Trader, TVRCCA, and I get daily emails from BAT. I'm hoping someone here knows of sources that I don't. As far as importing, I have been looking in the UK, but that would be a last resort and I'm not interested in RHD models. Hard for me to believe now that I once owned two of them at one time. :(

There was a 2500M on the chambana craigslist less than a month ago for $7500, and it had been listed for well over a month. It quite possibly belonged to Barry Rowe who at one point was the TVR club president, regardless he's who I'd start with.
I don't see him listed as an executive of the local sportscar club now, but contact their president & Bill can pass your info along CCSCC.
I'll add that there seems to be a high concentration of TVRs in the area...I think there were 4 or 5 in various states about 10-15 years ago when I was still active.

I know Barry, but I'm not aware that he currently owns a 2500M. I'll check it out in any case.
I saw a 70's something TVR with a 2.5 Triumph engine (2500M?) at a garage sale last spring. The car had a light coating of dust and appeared to be in decent shape. The car was being kept in the back of a dry barn and wasn't priced. I inquired and was told the car was for sale if the price was right. I threw out a lowball offer of $4000.00 and after a moment or two of hesitation my offer was declined. I'm not sure how close I was to the price point.
The car was in Chelsea or Grass lake Michigan. I think I could find the house again... interested?
In reply to bravenrace:
IIRC the house/car is located in the back woods off a gravel road. Probably not a good idea to knock on the door after dark. I'll swing by on Sunday during the day and get contact info.

I found the ad - it's a 280i not a 2500m...I knew there was a 2 in there somewhere!

There's a 280i around the corner from where I work. I know that it's not what you're looking for, but I thought that I should tell someone else before I accidentally buy it for myself and regret the decision.
Hemmings has 4 pre 75 TVR's listed... all over $30 large
I'm cheap, but the 280i looks like an $800 car to me.
I knew of one in the beaches area of Jacksonville. I saw it in the carport when they moved in but since then the vines have grown up on the fence to the point that you can't see it anymore. I don't know when I'll be out that way again but I'll check when I am.
In reply to Woody:
I like the looks, having seen one autocross frequently makes me think twice about owning one - it's hard to believe such a low-slung car could pitch like a sailboat.
Doesn't look like Wire Wheel has anything for you, either: http://wirewheel.com/TVR.html
No Wedges. They are better cars than most people think, but I need a car that started production before 1974.
In reply to David S. Wallens:
Nope. I check there frequently, but Hayes seems to have gone more towards Lotus these days. They do have a nice 2500, but it's already on hold. I check every day and the first time I saw that car it was already on hold.
Way back in the '80's, Tim Suddard did a TVR project car with a Ford V-8. I went to a test-n-tune drag race at Bithlo with him and a few other CFR racers, and watched as he broke into the high 11's with it not even trying hard.

I have driven it, it isn't

Have you talked to Hayes? If there's a TVR out there looking for a home, I'd think that he knows about it.

Is it yellow? I may know that one (or did know it 25 years ago)
