I just saw an episode of Iron Resurrection where they re-did a Chevy pick up. Did a really nice job. Painted it a tangerine metallic from House of Kolor. When they rolled it out into the sunshine, that color did not POP, it EXPLODED!! Anybody use that stuff? How is it to work with? I looked around and they even have rattle cans. What say the Hive?

Hok is amazing stuff. Absolutely stupid amounts of flake, and the colors are insane. I know chip foose uses their stuff...and they're giants in the lowrider industry. I also know shootinf flake can be a pain in the ass due to gun clogs and the like, so there is that.

HOK is amazing but seriously expensive and you need the whole system of their primers and pearls to do it justice. Just to give you a price point my 61 Cadillac was done in HOK material and even with a hefty discount was 6K in supplies. They make a flake gun as well that is amazing for heavy large bass boat flake. At least they used to.

Love there stuff for small detail areas like lacing roofs and wheels.

Our Manx wears House of Kolor--we figured dune buggy and metal flake go together like peas and carrots (only doesn't suck like p&c). Don't remember the name of the color, but yeah, it's great-looking stuff.

House of Kolor always has a big presence at SEMA. It's really, really pretty stuff.

Jon Kosmoski (the founder of House of Kolor) is a local guy. I've seen him on occasion at car shows around Minneapolis, you can only imagine the paint jobs he has on his own cars.

I've shot HOK on the my old Rx-7 (the rotor in my avatar was their "forest green" heavy metal flake). It shot great, huge flakes and looked awesome and shot fine through my low-quality guns. I didn't use their stuff for the gloss black base coat or clear, though.

HoK has so many beautiful colors, but yes it is definitely higher on the price range for automotive paint.
