I want to upgrade from 16" to18" wheels on my 1997 Boxster, but I think wheels cost too much. I have a few specific goals, namely 1. Upgrade to 18", 2. Don't increase wheel weight by s lot over the 16s, 3. Make the car look s little tougher/less girlie. BBS or HRE Wheels tick sll the boxes, but I just can't justify paying $900 per wheel. $3600 for wheels on a $7000 car seems crazy to me. Any recommendations? I hate the so called,"urbo twist" wheels, I think they look like 1995 ford probe wheels, so that rules out my cheapest option.
If it wasn't for (2) I would hold my nose and check if Rota has something suitable.
I'm in a similar situation, the wheels I want for the Miata cost almost as much as I paid for the car and I don't want to settle for replicas...
Check out tirerack.com? There's a few options that I'd rock.
Also, what about a GT3 front lip to toughen up the car's looks? I always liked that piece.
