A buddy of mine had an abandoned car on an easement driveway that used to belong to his roommate who mysteriously disappeared. After waiting a little while, he sold it. It was one of those weird Infinity M30 coupes. Watching it all unfold, I thought it was hilarious.

If the vehicle is on your property, there is a lien process. If on the street, no dice. Too bad, best bet is to watch for siezure and then the auction, or someone else who doesn't care will steal it before it gets towed. Since its rare, they will likely steal it, wreck it, and abandon it somewhere else. Then the story can repeat itself until there is nthing left of the car.

If you know someone in law enforcement, they can run the VIN to an address.
