I am trying to replace my 341000 mile Jeep with a new Jeep. I can easily afford and justify a new car purchase.
In the fall before my winter job I visited a few dealers and could not find a new manual trans on the lot. The consensus was that I needed to order one to get a 3rd pedal.
This spring after my winter work season I went back to the same dealer who helped me so much in the fall and he told me that ordering a new car is going to take up to 10 months due to the MY23 to MY24 changeover, where I need a new car before November.
So I started searching for what I want within a 5 hour drive of my house. I found about 10 cars that fulfill my requirements and I started making phone calls and emails. There is now a Stop Sale order on manuals due to a pressure plate that can overheat. Of course the aftermarket has solved that problem but that doesn't help me.
I picked the one that best matches what I want and told them I'd like to do everything up to actually buying it in hopes the stop sale ends soonish. I can also look at the used market and figure that the money I'll save up front will cover the aftermarket clutch/PP.
Just overall a little ticked that I have finally gotten to this point in my life and I am not being allowed to spend my money on a car I want that's sitting on the lot.
- I'm going to order exactly what I want!
- I'm going to find the closest thing to my preferred specs
- I'm going to be driving my tired old jeep as it slowly rusts apart around me....
Anybody want to just build me a custom van and solve all my problems.
Are you trying to buy a Jeep or a van?
Wrangler?

Trying to buy a new Wrangler/Gladiator for the snow season in Tahoe.
Sounds like it's time for a fly and drive.

As in fly to the best used one I can find?
I have 7 months to either wait until the stop sale is repealed or find a used one that fits.
Bummer! Not much you can do about the stop sale, hopefully it'll get sorted out soon.
Stop sales are a pain, there was one for a while on the '11-17 Odyssey, something with the middle row seats where because of the sliding feature they added with that model, the seats were hard to latch. The good news is that once the stop sale is over, dealers should be eager to move their inventory that they've been holding (and paying carrying costs on). Hope it works out quickly for you!

I have a friend who ordered his Wrangler as he wanted it. It arrives at the dealer, and the Stop Sale begins the next day before they can even do the PDI. So, it's sitting there, taunting him daily. You are not alone.
Accept what the universe is telling you and buy a Subaru Outback Wagon?
Clearly the answer is a square body Chevy truck.
It's a real sign of just how much E36 M3 has changed...rewind to 2018 when I bought my first ever new car. I wanted a Mazda3 Sport, 6MT, in Eternal Blue. It was August of 2018, so at the end of the model year, and I was told there were 2 cars in that combination East of the Mississippi. Within a week one of those cars was sitting in my driveway, for 3 grand under MSRP.

same thing happened to my buddy with his 2016 SS Manual, due to the seat belt recall. he got tired of waiting and bought a used ATS 2.0T RWD Performance, then sold it and got his SS when the stop sale ended.

Lol
Right VCH? My mom wanted a Mazda3 hatch with a 6 speed in 2010. They found one and delivered it 3 hours to her.
What sucks so bad in my mind is that a quality aftermarket clutch/pp solves the problem. Would that I could get a new jeep off the lot, put a Centerforce clutch/pp in it, and Robert's your dad's brother.
I feel your pain. I tried to order a new Ford Maverick AWD w/tow package during the week the order bank was open in September last year.
The dealer "lost" my order. I assume they had already sold their quota and were just taking orders the rest of that week to get the customers to go away.

A friend of mine bought a Gladiator last year with the 6MT. He just got the recall notice, with no fix available at this time. Frustrating. He also notes his has an annoying buck at 1200-1800 RPM, mostly in 3rd/4th gear. He drives around it, but it's annoying driving around neighborhoods and such at 30 mph when that's the gear/RPM you kind of want to be at.
I considered a 6MT Gladiator but decided on an 8-speed automatic because I wanted the Max Tow Package which gives the truck 7500# towing capacity vs 4500# for all others. Just a thought if you are going to be towing.

I won't be towing much, maybe 3000lbs, and refuse to own an automatic.
