Better to go for it than to just talk about it. It's better than 90 percent of similar builds. What else do you want to know?

The body panels of the Corvette were modified and/or replaced with the Volvo 1800 body parts to create a vehicle that appears to be a modern looking Volvo 1800, but with all the amenities of a modern vehicle. This car is basically a Corvette that looks very much like a custom Volvo 1800 . It is titled and licensed as a 1992 Corvette. It's not like a '92 Corvette is a rare classic. As for the Volvo, I know where one is sitting now that you could pick up for about 5 bills. It's rusted enough that it would be a good donor for a project like this.
I didn't see the add... wonder how they got the 'glass to sit so well with the metal?

They would have to be off their meds to do something like that! When I first saw the tittle of this post, I thought someone might have just stumbled on to my project.
I have been aware of this Vette build, but never found a build thread for it. Anyone have a link? I can't decide if I like it or not and it demonstrates how hard it is to get styling right.

There is someone that brings one of these to a car show all the time around here.

This one almost went so right but then went so wrong. I think that most of this car's ugliness (apart from those ugly-ass wheels) is in the side window and giant B/C pillar thing. Something is terribly wrong there but it's hard to put my finger on it. I'm not too sure about the '50s-ish rear strakes either. I don't think they belong on this car visually or chronologically.
Had a customer who spent huge dollars on a paint job for one of these:
And then spilled brake fluid on it. Like the idea or not, it was sad
I've seen the Volvette in person. The owner had it at the Carlisle Import & Kit show a few years ago. The workmanship is pretty good and it was definitely a lot of work. He had a build album on display with the car.
I'm sure there's somebody else out there who loves the car enough to buy it... now finding that somebody who happens to have his asking price available may take some time.

The fenders need to be cut higher up into the body. The tires are tucked up into the fenders and yet it's not that low on ground clearance.

Yah. The windshield and roof lines are what ruin it for me.

That is definitely the low point. The rest is pretty well done. I sure as hell couldn't do it.
Fix the B pillars and loose the vents behind the rear wheels and it would be fantastic but I would drive it as is. It works for me.

IF somebody has a link to the actual build of this car or who sells the glass I would be highly interested.
