Looking for feedback. Moderator if this is the wrong place for this, feel free to relocate to a better sub-forum.

I have a 1982 Alfa Romeo Spider. For several reasons I feel it is time for me to get rid of it. Has been a mostly reliable car for the 5+ years I have had it. But definitely a driver. The PO's Maaco paint job looks good from 10 feet, but has rust in the rockers and quarters, and the floor as well. Probably a number 4, or maybe a 4 minus, if there is such a thing. The interior needs work as well. I know there is a few rust holes in the floor. seat covers covering up bad leather and foam, a warped dash cover over a cracked dash pad, a bad speedometer, a worn carpet. etc. But mechanically I have kept it up, which must be one of the most used lines in the old car world, right? Still a cool car that gets compliments, and fun to drive. But to time to move it on to the next person.

I don't see the wisdom of fixing up this particular high mileage car. Thinking the next person can either fix it up or drive it as-is. How do I arrive at a price that's fair?

Is there a good site to get values on something like this?  NADA and Hagerty have not been a help. KElley Blue Book seems to have turned into a car selling service these days. Maybe take the Hagerty #4 "Fair" value and cut it in half? Or am I being to hard on the old girl? These values don't seem to take into account mileage. Maybe it's an average of what cars are selling for?

In reply to timster :

If you were looking to buy one how much would you pay?   Now reduce it because you have faith in it that the new owner doesn't share.
Alfa's share the same reputation that Jaguars have. Er, reliability lacking.  Now some owners will contest that description, but I see a lot of cars that linger until the listing is stale while the owners try to get. "book value"

If that's your goal, good luck. I'd ask fellow Alfa owners what they think you can get in a quick sale,  and then, waiting for the right buyer sale.

Then decide  which position you are willing in

That's about a $2000-$2500 car. Ask $3500 for it & drop the price gradually until someone bites.
