just now, i was looking in the local CL auto parts for sale section, and not 2 ads apart there was an 87 Toyota pickup with a flatbed and blown motor for $800 and a V10 out of a 98 Dodge truck with under 50k miles for $1500..

i can't be the only person that sees ads like this and thinks "yeah, i could make those two things go together like chocolate and peanut butter"...

right??

The real question is, when does the project start?

FTFY

Nope! I do it all the time, but rarely get an '87 Toyota and a Dodge V10 in the same search results. Respect!

FTFY and BTDT. Lucky for me, I never have the money for both at the same time.

The first question is "how much rust?"

The second is "can I smog it?"

Next is "Does the Toy have a title?"

If you have acceptable answers to these questions it's "game on!"

I do the same thing. The only problem is that sometimes my ideas go together like chocolate and roofing nails.

Considering how much effort it is to get a small block v8 into a toyota pickup, i think the v10 would be a complete and total PITA. Not the easiest way to get 300hp. Or even 450lb ft of torque.

Cool idea, but for me it's cooler to think about driving than building.

Today I saw a SBC in a Citroen 2CV, a V-10 in a Mustang II, and an Allison V-12 in late 30s sedan. Never give up!
