Cool! I bought one for $400 from a college girl after her boyfriend put in a new fuel filter. He used a round plastic one meant for a tractor. The plastic ball swelled up from the pressure and the paper element got sucked into the fuel line.
New progressive springs, cleaned it up, painted the mirrors like the German flag, sold it for $2400.
Merry Christmas to me.
Dan
So, I shouldn't pass up the $1000 325i just because it's developing front floor rot?
(note: Bilstein HDs, short-ratio limited slip, full maintenance records for past ~5 years, and it's an i not an e)

Yup, slap a 325 head on it and away you go.

Can someone tell me if the "bentley" service manual is the factory service manual? Thinking about picking one up if it is.

Bentley is sort of the unofficial service manual, not the factory one. A little bird told me that a little digging on the web can get you downloadable copies of both
