I agree...I want a write-up. In fact, I wonder if there would be a market for miata==>streetrod conversion kits. (Keith, are you listening?)

Now i fear that if i ever drive a real miata i will compare it to this, and it will feel like a Sebring convertible in comparison.... Its also the answer to the other thread about what to do with a miata stripped to the subframes. It was made by a good friend of mine. He built it then drove it 800 miles from GA to NY to visit.
I live in georgia. I want your friend to be my friend.
Sorry, been at a music festival all weekend. The interwebs did not follow me there.
The wheels are from a miata, but the tires are much larger than stock to give it more of a hot rod look. Its also got front shocks from the back of a motorcycle so the shock towers don't stick up ridiculously high. I'll try to get him on the forum, he's done enough with cars that he deserves to share it here.
In the meantime, moar picz!
That's my friend the builder on the left.
Also, that may or may not be a bottle of old crow whiskey for the coolant overflow...
I work in Ithaca. If your friend is still around could I see this thing in person, please?
Thanks, Dan
Dan, The Miat rod is back in Georgia, unfortunately. We're both on to cafe racer projects right now. If you ever wanted to ride bikes or just talk shop, let me know.
We'll also both probably be at the Glen region Auto-x at Seneca Army Depot in Romulus on the 1st, you should come out.
Hey guys, I never really got a chance to answer any questions about this thing but I'm the owner, I've got a bunch of build pictures that I'll post up at some point, also the car is running in Rat Rod Magazine #4 with some new photos if anyone wants to check that out. http://www.ratrodmagazine.com/
Wow. This is seriously awesome. I'll admit that I would have done the exhaust differently for my own sanity, but damn. This is awesome!!
Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but the car is up for sale if anyone is interested,

Good luck, I would have liked to to have driven it again, but I suppose it makes a lot more sense to sell it in GA than NY. In Georgia you could show up with a live elephant that was actually on fire and get a plate for it, as long as you paid them their 20 bucks.
You'll need to log in to post.
