Depends on height. At the worst, it could use a lip roll/flattening, which i would probably do anyways "while you're in there."

Yeah, I plan on eventually going to 225/45s, but wanted to see if I could get away with not doing it just yet.
I'll be using FM's recommended heights on the VMaxx setup.
No one around here has for rent.
Track rat, right? Cut the inside lip, fold it back with a small hammer or pliers with soft things to protect the outside of paint. Fold lip back flush with the inside of the fender, spray some sort of paint or undercoating all back there. Done.
Any suggestions on what to use to cut it? That sounds like a bigger PITA then having a rented roller shipped and a much better way to end up with a nasty looking job?
Yeah, but IF I go ahead and go it, I'll likely go ahead and pull them a bit too. Since 15x8 ET 20 and 225s will need a pull I believe.
I'd wait with the fender pulling until you have the 225s on the wheels. Makes it easier to check that you're not pulling them too far.
Why such a low offset? Plenty of NA guys fit 225s on 15x9s with just a simple roll. Your outer edge will be a similar location, but with et35ish you'd have tons of clearance.
Find a local car forum, and someone who has a roller you can borrow. Check in with the "stance" crowd.
My guess is that it's because of a good deal that popped up on wheels. That's a common rota/konig/xxr offset.
15x8 ET36 with 225/45. With your extra 16mm offset I'd say you're gonna need some rolling. Didn't drive the car with these.
Same wheels with 205/50..
I have a buddy that's running the R-S3's 225-45-r15 on 6ULs and lowered he had to do a slight pull. He didn't even notice till he was at the track, just did it with a tire iron. Anything under that you could probably get away with, but if you do go 225 then I suggest renting a fender roller. Should be an easy job.
edit: Oh, as a note, the 6UL's are 15x8
