Took a 2hr road trip. Test pipe, burns oil, turns 4,100rpm at 80mph and I held it there for most of the trip.

Went through a quart of oil..

I picked up a new water bottle

Mine's white but it's close. I can almost get 16mpg out of it. Almost.

Yours probably has the alloy wheels, then. I forget when they changed...but I have an '82 240D that has the alloys.

OK, so I got off my arse and looked up a pic on photobucket. Its lunch, so good a thing to do as any. Its an 84 300D turbodiesel, and of course an absolute screamer. Really need to go easy on the throttle, you know, it can get away from y ou before you know it.

What material did you use to fabricate the lower, front spoiler and how did you attach it to the bumper cover?

Oh, and back to the topic at hand, I drove a '96 Sonoma - "greener" than most its' vintage as it sports two new cats and easily passed emissions testing two months ago. The gas mileage still sucks compared to either of the Hondas, though.

The same car I always drive.. my TDI... in honor of Earth Day, I made a point of doing a good, hard, 'foot to the floor' merge onto the hwy... leaving those behind me choking in a cloud of soot.

Pontiac GTO The miata smell more like a violater with the big injectors, RX7 VAF and walbro fp but still gets 30mpg except when running the Dragon at WOT.

Now with more thump (and emissions) thanks to the new pipe.

Plastic garden border stuff trimmed up and some L brackets with self-tapping screws. Bottom is reinforced with a 1/16" thick aluminum band in the middle. Total cost: $22

It's fairly responsible motoring, complete with the intoxicating new car smell
