It's Feb, who else has been procrastinating?

There's the first pile of parts.

There's the car. I should probably get started, eh?

I popped the motor in my race car back in October... so I took out the rear suspension, front control arms... ordered some parts.... but the motor is still broken and I haven't even called the machine shop to drop it off yet.

Oh yea. Put my Spitfire in the driveway, so I'd make sure I'd do the things to it this winter. Nada, zip. In fact, quite zip, as in I zipped it in the big baggie, and there it sits.

Sigh, I might end up towing it to Carlisle this year. Or worse, driving the Miata instead.

My garage was 7 degrees last night. Brrrrr. That Jet-Ski Impeller can wait.

For the first time in my life I have a clean and secure garage space all to myself... and sits empty because I have yet to get around to buying another car .

I pulled the car in in November, and it's sat there undisturbed ever since.

I probably have a solid month of nights/weekend work to get it done.

This is how it looked when it went in back in Nov. My guess is that it looks the same today?
I had the best of intentions but it still has the same suspension and exhaust. The real action should start in April/May.
I am still waiting to getting around to procrastinating.

I have a motor for the Escort, and the pile of suspension and brake stuff is rapidly growing. Unfortunately, i won't be done accumulating parts until march, so it looks like the car will probably be put together like... the day before the first event.

WHAT'S bad is that pic doesn't even include the VC gaskets, the intake gaskets, the fluids or the filters......

Got new suspension, seatbelts, brake rotors/pads/bleed awaiting the Bimmer, (plus several misc. electrical jobs.) But it's been so damn hot lately.Coupled with the fact that the "temporary" Mazda 626 I'm driving is totally decent, and it's hard to get motivated.

Oh yeah... forgot about the MX6...

Have the built head to install, modified intake manifold, injectors, AFPR, tapped valve cover for oil catch can setup, clutch, and rear sway bar.

Ugh.

Hot? I'd love to have the problem about now. It was -10 below at my place this morning. Garage was about 15* inside.

Its been raining/snow/stupid cold in Atlanta. The Jeep continues to sit outside and the GTi still sits as I need time away from the Warden to work on em...

Efffff youuuu! The high today is 17 degrees and the heat in my garage is out. Not that it matters, since my car is too big to fit in the garage with the door closed and still have room to work on it. (Ooops, moving from a 24x30 to a 30x22 garage actually made a huge difference. Who needs a 30' WIDE garage? You need depth! Sigh.) I should get into smaller cars again. The CRX is super easy to work on in there and a Miata would be cake as well.

I've slowly started to wind back up on the projects. Managed a p/s pump and alternator swap the other week, now I'm waiting on parts again. Maybe I'll work on the truck - one front shock is actually hanging out below the control arm. Ehh, I don't even drive it in the winter anyway, since it's 2wd.

My E30 has barely been touched since I yanked the radiator back in... Sept, I think... been sitting on the lift ever since... hogging up the garage where my TDI should be during the winter...

I did buy a set of HD rocker arms recently, so I have some incentive to get back to it... but it's hard to get enthusiastic about working on a car you don't really like very much... I really wish I could back to April and kick myself in the nuts... would have been less painful in the long run.

with the stupid amount of snow and ice we've gotten this winter, I have put off tearing it down because of not wanting to have to clean off the DD every day. But now that I' running out of time, I gues I'll have to suck it up and do it.

I swore that I'd never fill up a 25x36 garage. I guess I never thought we'd own 3 cars, a truck and a motorcycle at the same time.

I sold the Torsen rear out of my Miata in December. Still waiting for my tax return to buy the FM V8 rear end parts. So its been sitting under its cover on jack stands for almost 2 months now. The worst part is last weekend it got warm enough to drive it and I couldn't! Now that its 16 degrees out again I'm not nearly as depressed that its immobile.

I am not procrastinating, I wish I could right now. It is awful cold to work in the garage. I cleaned up the garage to start putting an LT1 into my 77 Vette when my wifes car (04 Aveo) started to tick so I found a parts car with low miles to swap engine and susension parts from. That parts car is sitting in one stall still needing to be srtripped. The day I picked up the parts car my stepsons 2000 Elantra blew its engine. That car is currently on the lift (been there 3 weeks). I got an engine from the pick n pull for the Elantra and will finish it his week (I hope). Then I have to fix the vent motor and front axle of my truck. Once those are done I can change the motor and susension in the wifes Aveo. Then I can start on my Vette followed finally by the race car that I want to autocross in the spring (it needs a new engine and the fuel cell moved). My garage is not heated and it is darn cold making work take way to long. I wish spring would come. I am also only at the house with the garage 3 nights a week which slows things down. At the current rate I will be just finishing up the race car the day I leave for the Challenge like last year. I really need to tune the car before taking it to Florida. A turbo charged 350 Chevy in a 280z should really do better than 18 second quarter mile times.

My car was due for inspection in January. It's now February and I haven't had it inspected yet.

At least I've got parts on the way.

I was supposed to do all kinds of work to the XR4 since October so I could park it at my buddies place and get my garage space back, it's now Feb and I've managed to convert the front shocks to coilovers that is all.

On the other side I've managed to get alot done to the Fiat, so I guess I'm just being lazy, I mean 2 projects is still manageable right?

We built a patio in January.

Which had to happen before enclosing the carport. (Domestic Tranquility: I haz it)

So, this year it's house-work during the normal car-work season. But check with me next February. Then, I'll be not-procrastinating actual car projects in sheltered, insulated, semi-heated luxury!

Aside: House projects in winter rule. Oregon's relatively mild, so though you get cold and wet, we're not totally frozen or buried in snow, but tool rental places etc are stoked to see you 'cause nobody else is doing anything for a couple of months yet...

As a result of this thread I'm skipping lunch and going to the garage for an hour (woikin' from home today). Maybe that will get the motivation going.
