Got tired of fighting with the trans in my Saab and decided to fix something I broke. My 900 is a 94, which has a body coloured panel between the taillights stock. The 96+ 900s had a reflective panel that continued the taillights across the back the car. I had retrofitted that panel to my car, but subsquently cracked it when I was pushing the car into position to pull the trans.
I tried that taillight filler crap that Pepboys sells and it looked just like that, crap. I was considering going back to the solid panel when I spotted an unlikely source of inspiration.. a Honda Odyessy minivan.
On the Odyessy, they have a solid body coloured panel between the lights, but with a chrome decorative strip that sort of compleates the line of the turnsignals and reversing lights across the back of the van.
So I did this:
Still needs to sanded lightly and repainted before given a coat of clear.. and then I can bolt it up. In this pic it is just sitting in place as is the badge
