I'm sure that this has been covered, but are stock non-M3 e30s autocross competitive?
which of the h&R springs would suit me best? I have a some what high tolerance to harsh riding cars, and im looking for something that will make the back roads quite fun. Would the Spec 30 springs fit the bill or would they be a bit overzealous for street use?

I once almost bought a "325i" that was actually a 325 - not a 325e, but it did have the eta motor. The way to tell is if redline is at 4500rpm. A previous owner slapped a 325i badge on the back and called it good. (Not as bad as the E30 M3 badge and shift knob my E21 320i came with - I removed those immediately, especially once I figured out that my shift pattern was NOT the M3 pattern shown on the knob!!!)

H&R race + Bilstein sports is what i'd do if I didn't the cash for coilovers.
