So that means 3.9 seconds from 100-123. Boo-yah.

Meanwhile, the new Lincoln Aviator has 500HP, weighs 5600 lbs, and cranks out 0-60 mph in 5 seconds. Wheee!!!

I decided a while back that I thought it'd be neat if my car (VW Quantum, think Audi 4000 Quattro as a wagon) could accelerate 60-120 in two seconds.  That'd be from highway cruising speed to redline in 5th.

 

I did some math and it came out to about 1000hp.

 

That's not not-doable nowadays, although getting the necessarily wide enough powerband to do it in fifth gear is the tricky bit.  Wouldn't have time to shift, after all.
