No offense to any Evoque owners, but I don't get it. I think they missed the mark (and also missed the marque). This one had 60k on it, so not old and beat.
I was expecting luxury, but I found more luxury in a RAV4. The interior bits were super cheap. The "suede" dash was just matte finish plastic. The touchscreen dash was so slow to respond it was like it had a virus. The seat warmers turned the center 6" of the seat into lava while the sides stayed 12 degrees. The steering was vague, the throttle was twitchy, and the 4-cylinder buzzed so much it gave you a seat massage at idle and turned the rear view mirror into an LSD trip any time there were LED lights on the car behind you. Am I missing something? What makes it a $60k vehicle? This is a car made with design input from Posh Spice. I would think it would maybe have some redeeming qualities other than lining the pockets of Rover dealer service departments.
My wife had one. Single worst auto experience of my life. There is a thread here somewhere from when i was losing it. Got her a Highlander hybrid. Bliss.
Last week I was messing around on Land Rover's website because someone had told me that a high-option Bronco comes out to more money than a base Defender which is pretty interesting.. while there I noticed that the flagship Range Rover starts above $100k. I wonder if that thing is similar to the Evoque where you don't get much substance for your money. I was thinking that with the long wheelbase and quick depreciation, it might make a very nice tow vehicle to pick up used once it's a few years old..
You know how those awful little chihuahua things are a tiny overpriced fashion accessory dog that is horrible as a pet?
