So, I was at a junk yard yesterday looking for drive shaft pieces for our ramp truck project and the guy had a pretty decent looking white 1991 Miata in the yard. I asked him if he might sell the whole car and he told me yes, scrap price is way down, so he would take $500 for the car and he told me it had a clean title.
Joe and I dragged it home later in the afternoon and it is not bad... Some rust in the A-pillars and a very, very light hit in the rear that did not damage the tail lights or trunk lid.
I was thinking parts for our race Miata. Son, Tom came over last night and tells me he wants to fix it up for his girl friend to drive.
Why do Miatas keep finding me and following me home? I would pay that much for a Porsche 911 or Mustang too!
Nice find! I'll have me one someday.
I have had the same problem 14 times. Must be some type of an addiction we haven't pinpointed.

Say it with me:
"Hi. My name is Tim and I'm a Miataholic"
We should, you know, like, start a spec racing series or something for them.

In reply to Tim Suddard:
Did you find what you were looking for?
I am in truck country. Most of our junkyards are almost entirely devoted to trucks.
It's pretty ridiculous trying to find anything for a sports car, performance car, classic, or import anything, but trucks are really easy.
Never been able to find a deal like that. A friend did though. Let him co-drive my Miata autocrossing a couple times. Then he ran across a 91 for $500. Came with aftermarket 16" wheels and decent all-seasons. Changed the oil and replaced the battery and it runs great. Cleaned it up and installed a new top and it even looks good. If I would have found that first, SWMBO would be learning to drive a stick so we could have his & hers Miata's.
