I was looking at the photos elsewhere on the internet and my first thought was that with the silver band around the glass, that is one seriously armored car.

yeah...it'd take some serious fire power to kill Kim Jong Il

Look for the OBX sticker on the back.
Not a 74. (They were, or at any rate looked, smaller & rounder, if I can use either of those words about a big Lincoln.) Maybe a 75 or a 76?
Maybe it's not armored, just needs reinforced to hold the weight of the casket on the roof. Hopefully that guy doesn't have to slam on the brakes. Classic bad comedy movie moment.
Exactly what I thought a totalitarian Stalinist dictator would be carted in/on for his last ride, a '75 Lincoln. Kim Jong-un better tighten up that salute if he is going to be the leader of the most awful country in the world.

I'm thinking a '75 or '76, too. Starting in '77, they started putting on the grilles that looked like a RR knock-off.
I'm a bit shocked at it being an American car. I would have expected a grosser Merc from a totalitarian type.
^^^^ Cool parkinglot for sure.
That is the car in the funeral. The grill, bumper, and chrome going on top of the fenders are exactly the same.
That's not a 1975 Lincoln. That's a 2009 North Korean Lin-Kun. It is powered by a 3.4L L-6 and Wi-Burr carbs manufactured in North Korea. The reason the casket is on the roof, is the extra bracing required to support the shape of the car makes passengers non-existant.
I thought the same thing when I saw it - actually, I thought of Rocky IV when he arrives in Russia to train. It looks like the same car, ableit with different little flags up front.

Ya and wipe the snow off first before you put the casket on top!!
Now when the cameras point to you....CRY LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT !!!!
I hope folks are being sarcastic, the white "band" around the top of the hease/bottom of the casket is a "blanket" of flowers.
And I really gotta hand it to these totalitarian dictators who think they have all the answers....when your country DESIGNS and builds it's own cars and airplanes, THEN you are no longer a 3rd world country. Until then? You are a failed/failing economy. (just my opinion.)
