Hey guys, anyone had to have some Koni shocks rebuilt before? Who did you use and would you reccomend them? Did you just send them direct to Koni or what? I need to get a shock rebuilt for this Daytona and need to pointed in the right direction.

Here's the shock in question, and as you can see it's bent at some really obscene angles, and will need a need rod, rod end for sure.

I looked into this once a while back and iirc, the cost was nearly the same as a new set of shocks.

Ooooo, that's a Koni race shock. Nice.

3 certified Koni rebuilders in the US. Pro Parts / Tri-Point out here in CA. I used them once. Worked OK. Also True Choice in OH and Performance Shock also here in CA.

Edit: more info is on Koni's site: http://www.koniracing.com/services.cfm

The cost of rebuilding the race shocks are probably less than buying a new race shock.

I just had a pair of Koni SA yellows revalved to a very specific setting. I talked to Lee Grimes at Koni because I knew he revalved the particular set I was copying and he'd have the specific info on file. Sure enough, he had the info, and the Koni team revalved them precisely as I wanted for $70 something/each (started with brand new shocks I already had on hand, so no worn/broken parts replacement). I feel I didn't pay a significant premium to use Koni directly and the job was done perfectly. I'd absolutely do it this way again.

I have never re valves shocks but I have felt with Lee Grimes in the past about other shock related things when I was crew chief and he was a great help. I can not say enough good things about him. A asset to Koni and the entire racing community.
