When I was a kid motorcycles all came with tool kits. In fact, the scooter I bought in 2003 had one. I don't think I've ever owned a car with one. I know my 1991 911 should have come with one, but it's gone now.
Who owns a car with a factory tool kit? What's in it? What was the last car in the US to come with one?
Many BMWs had them. My '86 M535i has a pretty complete one, but as the tears went by the quantity of tools went down, until it was just a couple things. I don't know if/when they stopped them altogether.

Is this what Texas cabin fever looks like after a little snow?
Either way color me interested!

All my motorcycles came with one, even newer sportbikes. Granted, its usually just a screwdriver, stamped steel pliers, and 2 double ended box end wrenches, but they have saved my butt a few times.
I have made a habit of assembling one for all my cars and bikes. I have tons of extra sockets from yardsale hauls, so I pick the common ones, and some HF bits to fill it out. Mil style packs work amazing for toolbags.
To actually answer OP, last toolkit I saw oem on a car was on my old classic beetle. Fit in the front spare like a hubcap, very slick.
The new miata didn't even come with a jack, or lug wrench. But it does come with some strange prybar, whose purpose I cannot discern...
My '88 Porsche has tire-change stuff and also a tool to manually crank the sunroof closed if (when) the motor breaks lol. e30s had a toolkit inside the trunklid until '91. BMW kept doing that for years, with lug wrench, tow eye, and other stuff up on the underside of the trunklid.
The newest car I had with a tool kit was my 82 BMW 320is. It had the much coveted "big" tool kit. Easily double the size of the standard kit. My 2015 Yamaha has a kit. My 2013 Sportster did not.
I remember that my Allroad (2001) had these crappy tools in with the jack. There is a screwdriver and a crap double open wrench along with the too-short lug wrench and tow hook.
An example of the BMW big tool kit is shown here: https://drivetribe.com/p/this-bmw-e28-m5-probably-has-a-UG0rTxCIQcirCenXVaxyJg?iid=VXdwDPcLQMeLDMJ1pag3qg They used good quality Heyco tools as well, no cheap stamped steel wrenches.

The only thing mine was missing was the small pliers. Everything was a little rusty but it was mostly all there.
2002 BMW M5 has one. It's mounted to the inside of the trunk lid. It also has a diagram showing how to pack three golf bags in the trunk.
In reply to Keith Tanner :
Wasn't that about the time they decided we didn't need dipsticks? Seems odd they would include a tool kit.

The lack of a dipstick is for evaporative emissions reasons. At least in my Audi, they include an electronic oil level sensor in place of the manual dipstick.
In reply to Nick Comstock :
Audi is the company that made plastic dipstick tubes that would crack and break, leaving you with no functional dipstick AND chunks of plastic in the engine. Going to no-dipstick was an upgrade in this regard.

Mine very much has a dipstick.
Codrus is not wrong - evaporative emissions are a big thing.

A lot of newer car don't have evap test ports, because they are a potential source of a leak.
Can't wait to have to deal with one of the "fuel tank assemblies". Fuel pump/sending unit are sealed in the tank, since the O-ring at the sending unit is a vapor leakage source. When the pump dies, you replace the whole fuel tank.
None of this flies for the VW engines with no dipstick, since the ones I have seen with no dipstick still have a dipstick TUBE, with a stickless dipstick handle plugging the top. (Yes, it is true: this car has no stick.) I think they just realized they could save a nickel per car by just eliminating something the drivers never used. (insert joke about driving light switches here)
Wouldn't the Dodge Demon Crate count? I know it doesn't *technically* come with the car, but it's got tools in it!
All my old Mercedes had one. I'm pretty sure my xjr has one as well.
Mercedes Benz 1987 190e 2.3 16v had tools and a first aid kit I use the first aid kit more than once
Ferrari still includes a nice leatherbound tool kit filled with Beta tools
My 2002 325ci had a kit in the trunk lid as well. About half had gone missing by the time I bought it but replacement kits are available on fleabay.
Newest car I have with a tool kit is my wifes 328xd wagon.
Newest motorcycle 2017 BMW rnineT racer.
Our 2002 Boxster S has a tool kit AND a dipstick!

It seems any German car designed in the 90's has a tool kit (some production lasted well into the 2000's).
I've been trying to put together a minimalist tool kit for my Triumph cars, but it's been a struggle. I am prone to packing way more than I need, which takes up valuable space and weight.

2005 Cooper s had one. 10mm wrench, tire change stuff, etc. Meager af best but the wrench was a nice touch.

My 2003 325i had the complete toolkit in the trunk lid. It was reasonably comprehensive for a few roadside repairs - I probably could have done a brake job with it. When I bought it in 2006 the salesman made sure to point out that it was all there, and it still was when I sould the car last fall.
