Time to replace the coil pack on the 99 NB Miata. I usually replace ignition parts with OEM. However, the OEM coil packs do not have a good reputation. I am not looking for the least expensive. I want a quality part I can trust. Thanks

Honestly, Toyota COPs conversion is probably cheaper/more reliable/better availability

FAB9 makes one, but it's pricey: https://fab9tuning.com/fab9tuning-plug-play-coil-on-plug-conversion-kit/

You can typically find the Toyota COPs from a junkyard for about $10/each.

Just one man's opinion, but the original coils made it 23 years in that car.  Unless you're running boost or an aftermarket ECU I would just stick with OEM. Junkyard pull or order from Treasure Coast.

That's usually my go-to. Install OEM, set a reminder to swap them out in 2046. I wouldn't use junkyard ones, though, as they're just as old as the ones you're pulling off.

If they were going to fail, they would have already. I think I had to change mine at 30k or so, but the oem replacement has lasted over 170k- so just replace it when it fails with a new oem pack.
