Actually Poopie, I just realized a local guy I know is selling this one. He runs a part-time business chauffeuring guys to the strip clubs an hour or 2 away, and he's upgraded to a bigger/newer bus. It might be the perfect ride for you guys.

In reply to petegossett:

Why do people on CL post some of the crappiest pictures that could possibly be taken? Do they even preview these pics before posting? Judging by the pics and the piss-poor text, I'd pay maybe half the asking price. Simply under the assumption that if he cares so little about posting a decent ad, he probably didn't care much about service either.

Yeah, I'd tend to agree. In this case, he's just a completely non-tech-savvy guy. So much so, that I'm not sure he would have been able to post the ad himself(he might not have internet?), so he probably had his son post it for him.

This particular one is in Quebec, so it will be rusty. Enjoy European diesel motoring with a Dodge badge:

I found that vans that have had the roof cut off and something other than steel grafted to it in the conversion process flex more and often eventually leak as the different material do not do the same dance with the beat put down by the the ambient temperature.

Personal experience: I had a "nice" perversion Ford van. It had Flexsteel seats, and yes, those are sub-par. The steel flexed and broke, twice, on the driver's back and the base cushion support springs in the passenger seat would routinely let go, making it feel more like a bucket - read pail - than a chair.

Looks like it's a short-wheelbase, and it's only 1/2-ton, but otherwise that sounds like a damn good price.

I have driven several ford vans (at a geology field camp), for sure I would get a 3/4 or one ton rather than a 1/2 ton. The ones I drove were alright, the only problems I noticed with them were that all of them (even one with 15k miles) had at least one bad front wheel bearing, and a couple had loose transmission tail shaft bearings, other than that they seemed durable, although they were really easy to get stuck in sand or gravel lol.

3/4 ton conversions are out there, but are somewhat rare and you'll pay a premium for a nice one. I have an ongoing search on Autotrader for one within a few hundred miles. An E-250 raised roof just popped on in Roanoke, VA. Low miles (86K), but the price seems high ($9500).
