I doubt the MR2 rack fits the AE82...
A few questions:
Is there a certain year I need to find a transmission before to get a mechanical speedo output?
Is the 5th gear pop out issue just a c50 problem or is it for all the c series of the era?
I'm trying to understand gear ratios. What do you guys think: c50 high a higher 1st and lower final drive or a c52 with lower first gear and higher final drive? That looks like pretty much the differences between the two.

A lot of money for a car with no transmission or engine.
As far as transmission gear ratios, one you will be agonizingly slow, but will give you 40 mpg, while the other will give you good performance with about 30 mpg.

I'll take 30 mpg and mind-numbingly slow over 40 mpg and tear my fingernails out slow. haha.
That guy is willing to part out that GTS, so I figured I could just go and pull the suspension stuff or brakes. He sent me a picture, looks trashed.
Bringing this back.
Is the first gen Prizm exactly the same as the Corolla (As in the badges are the only difference)?
Were they built in the same factories? Parts interchange? Build quality the same?
They are really close. I think there are a few different parts, but not anything major. Both came off the same plant but different lines. There is even a GTS version with a small port 4AG, which is very sought after. They are a good car, and along with the Pontiac Vibe, one of the 2 best cars GM ever made.
The grill headlights, corner lights, front bumper, and front fenders are different. The 1st generation Prizm was also available in a 4 door hatch back which I don't believe the Corolla of the same generation was in the US. The interior bits seem to interchange and most engine and electrical parts have in the 10 years I have had my Prizm. Most of the engine components actually say Toyota on them.
What about the 1996 Prism/Corolla? For example, to use Corolla grille and front bumper cover, what else would I have to change?
My Geeyota needs a front bumper cover and grille anyway, so that is why I ask.
I am also thinking of stripping all Geo emblems, and possibly replacing them with "Lexus" badges. After all, its all 'Yota, right?
