I ran a '96 PGT in the '06 challenge. Finished 31st out of 62. Hatchback versatility, great styling (IMO), decent mpg. Almost zero aftermarket. FWIW, I sold it in 2012 with 229k on it. Never opened up for more that timing belts and water pumps. My buyer sold it a few months ago and at 250k it is finally getting "modded". Smoked lens covers, purple dash lights, Millenia intake, hei conversion dizzy, etc.
