After 7.5 hours of driving, it's finally mine! The guy who sold it to me was sad to see it go - he knew what an awesome deal this was - but it didn't fit his F150. I'm just glad he gave it to me at the same price he bought it a couple days ago. In order to install it I had to remove all the hardware for the tailgate (hinges and latches) but it fits perfectly. The hatch has a broken bracket for one of the struts, but that should be easy enough to replace. The only other problem is that the PO painted all of the windows black on the inside. Anyone know the best way to get spray paint off of glass?

Aside from those two small items it's in excellent shape and I couldn't be happier.

Straight razor blade and lacquer thinner has worked for me.

Just make sure its actually glass, not plastic windows.

It's all glass, fortunately. Looks like I'll be getting out the elbow grease for this one lol.

Also, is there an easy way to tap the trailer hitch for the brake light wiring? The topper has its own pigtail, but I'll need to add the wiring to the truck.

Four-ought steel wool is fantastic for scrubbing stuff off of glass without scratching it.

I drove 16 hours round trip for my topper.  It fits so nicely you can't even see the seam where it sits on the bed.

I'll see myself out now.

If your truck has separate brake and turn, then just tap into the brake light wire. It appears you do have separate bulbs for stop and turn.

If I did that on mine, the third brake would flash with the turnsignals.

You should try to find one for the odd length first gen Tundra double cab. I looked for over a year and then found two within a month. I ended up buying the first one in Indiana but it sat taller than the cab and I didn't like the old man look. Then this one popped up in the town where I live, so I bought it and had two for about 13 hours. Some guy drove from the far side of KY to get it the morning after I listed it. It has a cheap rattle can paint job on it just to cover up the horrible Toyota maroon.

I've camped in it a couple nights, but I'm not gonna lie, I throw a futon matress in the back and leave all my junk on the back seat. I'm thinking if building just a plywood platform to give us some storage room to slide long items. My son and I will be camping in it the weekend if youth turkey season, and sliding the shotgun under would be a easy way to store it.

sorry for the crappy pic. I took it just as it was parked for this thread.
