Finally got my Z all buttoned up tonight. Took it for a drive and still have the same clunk as before. Got it in my driveway and noticed when you wiggle the wheel the spring moves quite abit and seems to pop. Could this be whats causing the clunking noise?

Just replaced the balljoints and wheel bearings as well.

You need needle bearings for those springs to glide when turning. My car does the same thing, been that way for years. No issues just noises.

Another thought though, does the clunk occur when going over bumps or when turning at a dead stop? If you went with shorter shocks (as most z guys do) they could be clunking inside the strut tube.

Could it be the strut bearings?
