OH lol. You mean the one that punched a strut right through the tower?

Bring yours over, we'll put my stockish suspension on it and some good tires and we'll give it a whirl

I didn't spring for the rally-spec arms.

If the stock arms can take it (they can), I'm sure yours can too.
Hahah, well.. i appreciate the offer, but there's other factors at hand that would pretty much make that not work.
Unless tons of negative camber is good for rallyx?
The camber doesn't matter too much since the tires actually dig IN to the surface instead of just rolling on top of it.

Depending on your driving style, it might work
I think wae is referring to a friend of ours who is a bit of an MX-6/626 fanatic. He may no longer have parts cars, just spare parts. I think gotten to over 300K miles on two different MX-6s, and is presently racking up the miles on a 626.
Evan, good idea on the 200SX SE-R. Did a little looking, and it appears doing a DET swap isn't too hard, and if thats too involved, there are cheap turbo kits out there for the DE engine.

Oops, i messed up... that should have read as "positive camber."
Sounds like i need to meet this friend. 1st gens or 2nd gens?
In reply to 92CelicaHalfTrac:
2nd gen, i think. You'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge on the breakdown in years. His tend to be late 80s or early 90's models.

Curvy sexy or box/wedges on wheels?
Here's my 1st gen:

This is true but, I could get all of this here in Korea very cheaply, very easily. I mention this because shipping from Korea to the US is about 400 times cheaper than you'd imagine.

Gives me a better shot at points after my customary 8 DNFs for the day... +1 on the Neon, but I'm biased there. I don't know about going dual-motor, but the Focus ZX3s can be had for Challenge money or close to it. Plenty of room for tires! Acura Integra? Lots of motor options there. Eclipse/Talon/Laser? I have a total hate-on for those cars after having to push that one on and off the trailer, but plenty of options there. The probe/MX-6. If you stay in the early 90's, I know a guy that usually has a parts car hanging around =) Saturns don't have a ton of options, but they seem to be pretty hard to break... And as to how to get a rust free car in Ohio: You watch the Atlanta (or other Southern) craigslist postings and then bribe me with hookers and blow and we go get it! And then we'll get the van and the trailer and get the car.Tell me more about the guy that normally has parts Probes/MX6s, please.
We've got a buddy who, for the last 8 years or so, has driven nothing but 89-91 Madza MX-6s. He recently branched out into a same-era 626. I taunt him with the $2012 Classifieds thread with the 3 MX-6s in Florida from time to time just to watch him try to figure out how he's going to get three cars 900 miles.

Hmm, are there any cheap turbo kits for Alpha or Beta engines?
The Accent seems to be the closest I can get in size to my old CRX in a reasonable budget, in a car that still has easy to get parts.
Ooh, what about this from that other thread:
(hotlinked again, booyah!)

Ah, Ok. I thought it was a reference to if anything broke you could pull it off the rental and finish the runs.
I wasn't planning on acting on any of this til srping, but theres a 96 Neon and a 96 200SX at the charity auction near me this weekend. Wonder what kind of trouble I'd get into if someone was to help me haul home another clunker...
EvanB wrote: Just one? Why not haul home both and see which one you want to keep .
You've met my wife, right? She's quite tolerant of my auto ADD, probably since she likes rallycross, too, but I get the feeling I'll be living in the garage (if I'm lucky), if I hauled both home
Actually, in all reality, as long as she has one side of the driveway to herself and doesn't have to "precision park" to get above the sidewalk, yet still avoid hitting a car, she'd probably let it slide. But, only 4 cars max would fit in the driveway, and right now its populated by her 6 on one side, and my Legacy on the other. So, long story short (too late), there's space for one more car at the eastsidemav homestead.
Edit: One mroe thing to consider, this is the first time I'm working with morre than a challenge-esque budget. It might be better (and ultimately cheaper) to find something thats already been swapped and just upgrade it for dirt work.

Good excuse to work on the car if you live in the garage.
You'll need to log in to post.
