More info as interest develops .....looking to hear from "yupididit" for feed back....
No amount is unreasonable if the seller is willing to accept it. Besides that, I have nothing to offer except in my neck of the woods they seem to have some rust issues.
So, pay $500 for a car that will need $8000 worth of parts to be worth $4500.
Sounds good to me. Done it many times.

Seeing how he got a free one he's gonna say $500 is to much.
The s500 has the air suspension which is much easier to fix that the hydraulic the higher trim models had. I’d be all over it for 500. If you pass I’m interested.
To all that replied , thank y'all. I apologize for not doing my homework/googlefu on this. Streetwise is that $8k figure legitish? Cuz i 've spent more coin on far worse sleds than this.

more like $10K in parts alone?

Well, if you bought everything, sure. The coil conversion kit comes in at 1639.77, so long as the car in question does not have ABC or is 4MATIC.

Ah...........now that's more like it ......I know 4matic , what's ABC besides AJFoyt's major sponsor?
ABC is the hydraulic suspension. The car you’re looking at does not have it. It has airmatic (air suspension).
8k is not correct, no. Well, unless you take it to the dealer and then who knows. The coil over conversion for my abc equipped cl600 was 1k and I installed it.
However, before converting an airmatic car I would see what it would take to fix it. They ride pretty nice and really aren’t that hard to diy if you have the right tools.
The Airmatic stuff is not expensive now and is easy to diy. My 16 year old son and I did both front struts and bags, compressor and rear struts on our R 350 for @ $600 earlier this year.

Where is it? I'm in Texas, I'll buy it right meow. If you pass on it let me know

But to answer your questions. The second half (2003-2006) of w220 production was much more reliable. If it was an 2000-2002 I'd tell you to pass. Especially true for the v12 cars.

Lmfao I got a 95 s600. A 2006 s500 must be way more reliable and easier on your pockets. It just has to be!

The title says 2006 Mercedes Benz S500? ....
Ya..... Not really it sais "MB500(2006) S? with trashed supension @152K miles ....is $500 unreasonable???" Could be an S but wanted to make sure as the level of complexity in an S class can be many times that of an E class.
$8k is too high for suspension, probably. However, I will suggest there is a pretty good chance the air bags are not the only problem you will find on a 150k Merc.
CALLING yupididit ...this sled is available as I try to type......call 832-465-1226 for more details !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I owned a 2004 S500, bought new. I loved the car, had it for 10 years and 130K miles. Sold it when the next repair was greater than the market value. I bought extended warranty to 100K miles and it paid for itself 5 times over.
Treat motor and transmission mounts as consumables.
Air shocks available from Arnot, lower cost than factory.
i loved the car. Solid, fast and comfortable.
