It still bugs me that Mike's neon build for sport compact car read like "We don't realize it, but here's all the engine parts you shouldn't buy for a neon."

I can tell you from someone in the software industry (CAM, though, not FEA), that we would never release images for somewhere like motoiq to use that were technically "damning." Most of the people seeing it aren't going to recognize it as anything useful except for your competitors. They're the only ones that are going to take something from technically accurate images and processes :).
The only time we're interested in anything other than looking cool is if it's a technical article on that function of the software, because you're trying to educate the customer with those, the fact that you're educating your competitors is an unfortunate side effect, but that's why those articles generally leave a few tricks out that have to be provided during the indivdual demo.

Thanks! I haven't written anything in a while. I decided that until I had something really interesting to say and an audience that would match, I would just concentrate on other stuff.
MotoIQ is the only other automotive mag I read (unless you count Speedhunters which is just car porn). Their RSS feed still works for me, here is the URL I use.
GRM's RSS feed doesn't work, but I always see new articles in the left-side box of the forums these days.

He does have a much better job now though bringing us the cars we love.
There are some really great articles in the mix if you are building a $20k sentra or whatever. I used to be more into it, everything is over my price range now. Not enough junkyard builds and DIY to keep my interest piqued.
