I'm in third gear exiting a turn and rolling on with 225 section ra1s in this picture.

I bought one with a blown motor for 1500 1.5 years ago. Another was on ebay for similar money recently. 3K is too much
Very helpful information. Thank you sir.
That said, I'd pay that money for it this week if the rest of the car is nice. If you don't pull the trigger on it, pass along the info if you don't mind. My old man wants one with a blown 2gr swap, so I'm shopping for a donor car. (payback for the little hellion I was growing up). It's a little far but.....
Ultimately I'm glad if people want to spend 2-3 grand for a roller (or w/engine that's fatally damaged) as that means the bottom is coming up. Finished an early model is 5-6K in good shape (no precat/oil issue). Facelift models slightly more. If you look hard enough you'll find a roller. Spyderchat is a pretty good community with tons of info and links (I can't recall if I found my roller thru ebay from here or there). I swapped engines with a 2007 corolla (same motor for the most part...5hp difference). You can do it in a weekend if you're experienced, otherwise 2 weekends full time can get it done (you'll need a garage and an engine hoist). I'm going to sell mine come spring for a z3 (yes the mr2 is faster but that's another story.....)
Do not buy one with the SMT (semi manual transmission), you will eventually regret it or swap the tranny out.

I'm surprised to hear anyone say anything positive about spyderchat, I found it to be a troll infested hive of villany and scum. There's some good info there but my experience has been that it's a different sport than the grm boards.
In reply to sesto elemento:
I find few boards as good as GRM, however for specific info on the spyder there are only a few boards with the info that people still visit. Grain of salt with anything, but I never had a bad experience there.

Find at least one crashed Chevy Spark EV:
Combine and roast the hell out of your rear tires, because 400 lbft of torque. Add 2 if you want to get all 4 wheels spinning.
