Yeah, I drive some big cars...that's why I'd like to try something a bit smaller but I haven't found the right car yet. For me the answer isn't Mustang, certainly not Miata!
I'm really not trying to criticize too hard. I hope that when it's time for another car that there's an American built option that's right for me; I've never bought a foreign car yet. If the Ecoboost and Powershift are as good as I hear then I'm definitely willing to check them out. Put one in a modern Turbo Coupe and I guarantee I'll go to the dealer and drive one!

One thing that we have to remember, MOST car oriented boards actually represent a very small population of the new car market. Rarely do I hear posts about new cars bought on this board. Or large manual sedans actually bought on the Miata board.
Basically, you are a very marginal market. So don't expect the car companies to go out of their way to make you happy when the market can't support a real production model, let alone a sub model of a current car. Especially for the inexpensive markets, where profits are razor thin, if they are even there.
See S2000 as an example. Miata is not a good example, since it shares parts with Ford and Mazda cars.
