I've had this for a few months now, but finally got some good shots taken. I've been working my way through a host of issues (small mostly) and still have a few things left to do. Regardless, it's been a fun car so far. Next up are some new wheels!
2004 model, purchased with 78k miles.
That looks exceptionally clean, sir.
Nice! They look really good with actual color (as opposed to silver/gray).
Thanks!
MG Bryan - It's pretty clean but what I would consider a 5'-10' car. It lived its life, until me, in Northern Virginia and has more road rash than advertised across the front end.
Nice! I had an Imola Red 05 for a while. Great car, razor-sharp steering, plenty of power but still mid-20s mpg on the freeway, nice interior. I autocrossed it a few times, the turn-in was pretty amazing for a bone stock car. I drove a couple of regular E46s, but as soon as I drove a ZHP, I knew that's what I had to have. In the end, I sold it as a cost-cutting move, but it was an awesome car.
Yessss! I love it. I keep looking at 330's but like Javelin says they're almost always silver or black. MAyyybe charcoal gray. Red is pretty.
Beautiful.. I have lusted for a ZHP for a long time...
Nice score! My brother has your exact twin car and he loves it.
FWIW I really like those wheels. I'd save the $$ for other fun stuff.
unf. Do want.
What are these selling for these days?
Again, thanks folks!
On the color, I love red BMWs. This is my 3rd. This red (Imola) is especially pretty. Very deep and lots of character. I also love it over the brown leather. Until looking into ZHPs here recently, I didn't even know this combo existed. Every red ZHP sedan I'd seen to date was either over black cloth/alcantara or black leather.
@ Joe Gearin - the stock ZHP wheels (style 135) are pretty, but they are a PITA to clean. These are also pretty rashed up. The new wheels are already sitting in my guest bedroom!
@ ProDarwin - ZHPs have held their value well. I've seen them from $11k - $20k, with mileage the biggest contributor to pricing. Most seem to fall around $14k-$15k. The package was available on sedans, coupes and convertibles. I shopped sedans exclusively.
To keep track of what I've done so far:
- Replaced amber corners with clear corners
- Replaced headlight lenses with new lenses (man, what a difference!)
- Replaced shift knob (old one was worn)
- Replaced cup holders and plastic surround around emergency brake (both were chipping/peeling)
- Replaced both air mass meter boots
- Replaced leaking rear pinon seal
- Replaced fuel filter
- Replaced diff fluid, coolant, trans fluid, steering fluid, brake flush/fluid
Up next, front license plate delete strip and new wheels!

Uber envious. I was shopping those in 2006 when I bought my 2003 325i ZSP. Unfortunately they commanded a bout a $6000+ premium over the car I bought. I still kinda wish I had ponied up.
Pretty pretty car!
I love that car, I'd like to pick one up some day.

Gorgeous car! I have been looking at ZHPs recently, but around here they seem to go for M3 money. So I came to the conclusion an m3 would be the way to go for myself.

That's what I found in the past as well. Too bad there is no E46 M3 Sedan :(
Nice! I like this way better than my Accord (who wouldn't?).
looks great in red.. it is a shame that BMWs tend to come in more "somber" colours.. because that is just drop dead pretty

I know what you mean. I was cross-shopping e46 M3s hard. In fact, I almost pulled the trigger on a really nice e46 wagon with a full M3 conversion that was for sale in SoCal. Talk about the best of all worlds! But, what I found from my shopping, is that the ZHPs were ~$7k cheaper than equivalent M3s (from a model year and mileage perspective). Factor in the additional maintenance cost and cost to insure, and it adds up quickly.
Another pleasant surprise has been the gas mileage. With the 6 speed, I can cruise at 75 on the highway and see 30 MPG without even hypermiling.

Tasty!! Nice score
Thanks! I'm excited to get the new wheels put on. Once I do, I'll post some additional photos.
Dangitalltohell for being poor.
Nice car.
Ha! I almost bought that E46 M3 converted wagon too. At the time he wanted way too much money for it. Just recently he listed it on eBay and it sold for $18k, which is what I offered him 9 months ago...

Nice---that's a car we've considered replacing our 04 wagon with.

I was looking at it after you passed on it. Man...for $18k, I probably would have pulled the trigger.
@ Per, if you get up this way (or even to Ocala), you're welcome to drive it. Compared to my 2002 325 wagon, this car is very similar, just better. And better is most every way. It's much closer to the e36 M3s I've owned in the past, just without the instant throttle response those cars had.
