Lately, i have been doing a lot of driving with the trusty miata. At night. Lots of construction zones at this time of year and because of this, i now lust after one thing.

I want my miata painted with the street stripe paint that "glows" at night, or have the car covered i reflective white or oragne, or BOTH reflective paint/ decals.

I want it bad.

How do i achieve this?

Help me please

The easiestway, though it would be fairly expensive if I remember right, would be to buy the reflective vinyl decal material and cover each panel with it. We used it many moons ago and for some reason I remember it being more expensive than the regular vinyl.

Some guy on the Nighthawk forum got some kind of glowing paint and was going to paint his bike with it. I'll see if I can find a link.

Go to one of those vinyl graphic shops, usually in a Mall; you can buy a strip of the stuff. Pick a width and run two down the center or the rocker panel racing stripe.

Much like neon lights under the car, you may get gigged for a "distraction to other drivers". $100 in NY.

That looks interesting. Not the best website though - hopefully it was made by someone who learned english as a second language.

The reflective vinyl is about 2 - 3 times the cost of normal vinyl, coating a whole car in it would be cost prohibitive. But doing some reflective stripes or other designs might not be too bad if you can find some place to buy smaller lots of the stuff.

I know that House of Kolor makes a glow in the dark powder that glows in the dark and is avaliable in several different colors. Pricey though I'm sure.

My Sentra's pinstripe (applied by the dealer before I bought it) is made out of that reflective tape. It's now 6 years old and starting to turn black in spots.

Joggers wear reflective vests, glue a bunch of them on the outside of the car?

Funny you mention it.

I was at a local car show and there was a guy there with a smallblock powered TR-6.

The car was black with a glow-in-the-dark stripe (looked like the factory style stripe) painted on.

So, apparently it can and has been done.

What would you use for glue? Joggers stick well enough to the front but what about the sides

On Pimp My Ride some dude's car had a fancy glow-in-the-dark crop circle pattern done...worked well at night.
