Sime of you may have seen i found an old hks intake for a 1.6 miata in the junkyard yesterday. Well i went back to get it and found another yard that has tons of miatas.

While looking around i found some msm billies with some type of red springs on them, couldnt see a brand. 260 for all 4 assemblies.

I also found some yellow billies off an na, that have adjustable perches and aftermarket silver top hats, unfortunately i couldnt see any numbers on the springs to get rates. 230 for all 4 assemblies.

Didnt see any damaged shocks or leaking shocks.

I understand there is a risk with unknown parts and rates, but which would you guys go with for a street driven 90 miata? Not a racecar just a toy to beat around in. Are they even good deals assuming the shocks arent blown?

I'd get the ones with the adjustable perches and aftermarket top hats. I wouldn't worry about spring rate as much as I'd probably get new springs.

Photos would be quite helpful.

Red springs are probably Racing Beat, which are too soft for their ride height. The MSM shocks also have a different rear perch height, so they really only work with MSM-specific springs.

The NA Bilsteins with the other parts are interesting. Like Blaise, I could tell a lot with pictures.

Isn't there something funky about the MSM parts? I seem to recall there is but I can't remember what.

Billies with adjustable perches, one of the lower bushings is deformed and one of the perches is tore up at the top. I also found the numbers on one of the springs so i got that in the pic.

It looks like those swaybars are Racing Beat. Look for the decals on them.

I wish I could have found a set in the yards here and saved a bundle of money.

Well E36 M3 i went in there to buy the adjustable billies and the nice girl shows me some konis for the same price. They also have adjustable perches, but it looks like the stock upper mounts are toast.

Duh, brain fart. I think the red stuff is all OE Mazdaspeed. The sways were red for sure, I think the springs might have been as well.

The GC setup shown has a GC180.64.44 spring, which is 246 lb/in. The fronts will be a 375, those are the standard GC rates.

I'd take Koni Sports over Bilsteins, but this is not a unanimously held opinion.

I got the billies, is it worth it to gran the konis for 200 and sell them?

I suspect that's pretty close to street value.
