I think the times on the example are reversed. 120 is slower than 119.
119 would be 100 points, 120 would be 99.167

Good catch. This sentence needs to be tweaked:
"For example, if the top time is 120.000, a driver with a best time of 119.000 would receive 99.16 points (119.000/120.000=99.16)."
To:

looks like i need to get my car finished - wonder if there is any issue with using 2 cars over the season as long as they are in the same tire group.

Absolutely! Bring whatever cars you want. It doesn't matter if you use one car, two cars or three cars - as long as they're in the same class. Jackie Ding won his 2023 championship with two different cars.
