Hey everyone, so I recently posted about the awesome NC2 Miata I found recently. I liked the RX8 I co-drove in autocross and when I got into this car, it gave me the vibe of a smaller RX8 so I didn't think I'd say this, but its pretty nice overall to drive on the streets. It's not as raw as the other Miata I have but I can't deny the fact that its better in just about every way possible to my NB1 while still retaining hydraulic steering.

I was wondering what the deal is with adding/changing the seats/steering wheel. The stock wheel is huge and the stock seats are slipper (leather). I've done some quick googling and it seems problematic to do either of them because of the airbag light. I think some hubs/kits online can take care of the steering wheel but how about the seats? Has anyone figured out a simple way to keep the airbag light off or is this one of those things where you'll just have to live with it?

I've seen people online who took out airbag seats and had a plug made to create the proper resistance at the seat harness. As long as the computer sees the correct resistance it thinks there's an airbag. No idea how folks that put aftermarket steering wheels deal with the warning light.

Edit: I remember now....it was a guy selling a MINI CooperS with Sparco seats and he installed the resistors in the harness to fool the computer.

I believe this is the article you want: https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=553241 Looks like the 3.3 OHM resistor is the one you want.

The Miata community (and GRM community) are the best. This is great, thank you for this.

Cipher and Guardian are two aftermarket steering wheels that retain the functions of the wheel. I have a Guardian, it was expensive but it is nice to have every time you drive the car

I heard of Cipher but it looked like a stock reskin (which is nice and all but I'm aiming to have a smaller diameter). It looks like Guardian has some options but they are definitely pricey!
