I think the weight will not be a significant issue.
Also, 3300 lbs IS lighter than i was guessing.
look into Cadillac v8. the newer ones share a block with the lsx but cast iron. they are the new big blocks.

there is no "Cadillac V8" any more.. unless you count the Northstar, and that has nothing in common with the LS engines.. actually, i don't even know if they still put the Northstar in anything anymore..
there are no "big blocks" any more. there are big displacement LS engines- up to 427" in the Z06 Corvette- but the last "big block" was the 8.2 liter that was in 3/4 ton and bigger trucks until a few years ago.
perhaps you are thinking of the 6.2 they put in Escalades and the 6.2 supercharged LSA engine in the CTS-V. they have aluminum blocks and heads. big displacement in a small package.
. big displacement in a small package.
My wallet isn't big enough though. I've been running some desktop dyno sims and it looks like I can get there with ported rectangles and a 6.0L bottom end but its gonna be hairy.
But just imagine what it will sound like at 7000 rpms

Do you know which one? Someone told me that the newer Escalades had an aluminum 7.0. I imagine it costs 5 figures used
This being GRM, I fully expected this thread to be about shoehorning an LS1 into a Nissan Cube. I am sorely disappointed with the serious discussion in here!

no 7.0 in anything besides the Corvette. Escalades get the supercharged 6.2 that is slightly detuned from it's Corvette ZR1 trim- this is also the engine that will be in the ZL1 Camaro..
