Hi all, I have a serious case of lust for a car for sale on a dealer lot at cars I need Anyone near Bata Rouge that could take a look and let me know if the place is legit? I'm at five one three six seven five one three five seven. I'll be doing a fly and drive if it's real.
Oh god - don't say that... But seriously - any LA folks who could at least eyeball the dealership would make me feel better about it before I pop for a ticket to fly in.
They were likely impacted by an intentional power cut that was the result of local flooding. Decent possibility of flooding at this lot.

With some areas around Baton Rouge getting 24 inches of rain and flooding in areas that has not seen this high of water in fifty years I would be careful. I know of two guys trying to get from Baton Rouge to Houston for over 48 hours and still haven't been able to get out of La.
Holy crap - I had been hearing about the devastation but didn't understand how bad... Guess I'm not flying in Thursday...
I doubt they can cover up a real flooding of the car that quickly. I might have to be in Denham Springs for work mid-week. I can see about popping over.

That would be great. Really just trying to figure out if they are a real deal or a scam. Happy to buy the car if it is most of what it looks like.
That has either got to be a typo or the car is probably well on it's way to it's second salvage title. More realistically, I think there was a typo and it should be 42K for the price. 24K is cheap even for a salvage title version of those.
If I was to have a newish car it would be a CTS-V wagon but this one might sway me into a sedan.

In reply to Mike:
Fingers crossed money changing hands shortly and will regail all with a fly and drive thread.
I would love to but headed back to cincy post haste. Brand new newborn and two boys at the house mean Mrs. 84FSP might murder me and then drive the V if I take a long weekend...
I'm sorry to say, but work kept me late. I missed them by about twenty minutes. The car isn't on the lot, but it's probably the nicest thing here, so it might be driven by staff.

Awesome!
Sucks you missed them but that is awesome of you to check it out.

This is perfect actually so really appreciate your help. Needed to know they existed and were legit. Still not convinced it isn't scammy but betting a plane ticket on it. Thanks for the awesome GRM effort.
Worth mentioning: I saw flood damaged houses on the way in. I saw mud-coated cars piled up in a ditch. Cars abandoned in a parking lot, with their trunks popped. I saw a newish Crosstour with the windows busted out just sitting in the street. I saw lots of people carrying lots of carpeting and furniture to the curb.
This used lot looks sketchy, but does not look like it was underwater 36 hours ago.
