I am building a 65 Barracuda that I am building to run next year in prepared C. The car will have a 5.9 360 so I am shooting for 3,050 lbs. I have a few questions and actually would like to be able to talk to someone on the phone that is experience running in this class. I have read the SCCA rule book, but doesn't go into much detail, other than firewall and floor pan mods and wheel size and weight?
Is a cage required? I have read the cage requirements and that is not a problem and will most likely bend one up over the winter.
I have converted the front suspension from torsion bars to coilovers, but retain the factory mounting points. Is that an issue?
I plan to weld in a triangulated 4link in the rear and go to coilovers. Is that allowed?
Do I need to run lights?
Can the rear end be a non Chrysler 9"?
Can I remove the side window glass and window regulators?
I am sure that I will have more questions, but this is a start.
Having been in a national level CP car I can tell you that you can certainly pitch the side windows and lights. In fact, the car was basically a tube frame car with the required panels in place. Best of luck, CP cars are terrifying.

Do a search here. There have been a couple of CP builds over the years. Hopefully they're still online.
At the risk of being "that guy" its generally a good idea to read and understand the rules before you start building...

Terrifying is what I am after. LOL I have owned 10 second street cars, so this will be a whole new challenge. Sounds like rules are pretty much wide open other than weight, wheel size and don't move the firewall. LOL Thanks.

Yeah I don't want to be "that guy". Actually the build started out to be pro touring build, but I have the autocross bug again.

What rules are you looking at? I have my book open right now and what's allowed and not is pretty clear. Right down to block and crankshaft modifications.
Anyway... You're ok on the Coilovers and changing the rear end.
A roll bar is required for open cars, but closed cars are ok.
You don't need a rollbar in a closed car, but prevailing opinion seems to be that the combination of power and grip in a CP car will just about tear it in half without a bunch of tubing connecting stuff together. I'm pretty sure 10 second cars on drag tires are in a similar situation though.

I am getting the rules straight from the SCCA page under cars and rules. I can see the rules about engine info such as crank angles and heads allowed, but don't see anything about cages or suspension or brakes.

I plan on running at least a roll bar and frame connectors, but am considering a cage.

No, but many cars have them as a result of other things being cut up. Mine has a 14pt, but that's a lot more about suspension mounting.

No problem.

Totally allowed.
Do I need to run lights?
Nope.

Yup. My camaro will have a ford 9.
Can I remove the side window glass and window regulators?
Absolutely. I have fiberglass doors with no provisions for windows.
I am sure that I will have more questions, but this is a start.

17.5 covers shocks and springs. Pg 122
17.6 Brakes Pg 123
17.7 antiroll bars
17.8 Suspension.
17.10 Q covers the rear axle
17.12 covers safety (roll bars & cages)
SOLO2 rules are pretty easy: If it says you can, you can. If it does not say you can, you can't. There is a lot of "can" in Prepared.
