If you live in Northeast Ohio, you have probably thought this day would never come. There is a video on Facebook. First event on the new surface will be next weekend with Gunar racing.

I was out there many years ago to do some testing. The track people told us we lucked out as a beaver dam that was flooding the track had been dealt with and the track was now dry. But it was definitely lumpy.
They used to say if you can go fast on Nelson you can go fast anywhere. It's because your line was never the same twice due to the constantly changing pot holes.
This probably means I won't be able to afford to drive there anymore. I can't wait to go back though and smash all my best times without even trying.
Wow, I honestly never thought it would happen!
It was bumpy but not horrible when I used to go there around 2001-03 or so; a buddy of mine used to race bikes there in the 90s and they would put cones in the worst of the potholes .
I'm guessing the $125 fundays are gone, though.
In reply to XLR99:
I'm not sure of the fundays but one day school is $200 as sponsored by Gunar racing. $400 for two days.
$125.............for that?
Guess I'm used to how cheap and amazing Hallett is. It's a true gem of the amateur sports car world.
The writers of this mag would agree.
4-5 years ago before it was repaved.

$125 to run until you got bored.
Any time I did a Funday they mentioned something about "sessions" but it always ended up being come in when you need fuel or something, go back out when you feel like it.
Lemons quit running there due to the high speeds. 2009 era Lemons cars (read: much worse than 2017 era lemons!) were hitting 110+ mph. Jay Lamm was staring at them shaking his head. 110 into a tire wall and you're going over/through. I will go back soon though!!
The last time I was there Paul Newman was driving the group44 TR6 and Renault le cars had their own series.....and were rolling them right and left in the series of turns before the front straight.
That LeCar cup was awesome! I was in MA back then, but I have some pics of Sam Posey driving a LeCar at LimeRock. I just remember ridiculous bump drafting; it was like 1/2 scale NASCAR on road courses.
Last time I was there we did a 26 hour race. That was a great time. I think we even won our class if I remember.
My first track. Ran time trials there with TRSCC before the carousel was added. After the carousel was added one of the guys flipped his Austin-Healy 3000 and that was the end of our time trials.
