Well that's just all kinds of awesome. How does one go about making a lexan body?
In reply to mazdeuce: building molds and thermoforming it , I have pictures when it was all clear before paint. It was so cool to see everything, like suspension and engine.

Now that I'd like to see! Thanks for joining the discussion.
In reply to Cotton: Cotton, out of several mustang race cars i built, two are in the Roush Musiem, I have two and sold the others, but know where they are. Tomorrow I will download more photos of past race cars. Some cool stuff.

I don't care who you are, that's funny!
THAT'S NOT 1LE INTERIOR
pinchvalve wrote: Remember when GM used bloated plastic in all of it's interiors? Pontiac was the worst, with orange lighting. PUKE! There is still a lot of that going on in the Camaro. The HVAC knobs were designed by Fisher Price. Retro instrument binnacles are just stupid and ugly. Why are there tiny gauges below my knees? What happened to the shifter...is that a black softball? Do you want to look at that all day? I could look out over that day after day. Great shifter, nice instrumentation, classy and timeless.
That's 1le interior.. Yeah that's 7" touch screen...................... Oh and yea that's suede interior......
As an interesting note. Car and Driver's lightning lap issue posted and the 1LE was seriously fast for the money. Not bad for a 37k car to beat so many high dollar foreign makes

Sorry, I think the Camaro's interior is ugly, as is it's body. In my opinion the Mustang has it all over the Camaro, in any form.

BARF
I was impressed by the 1LE's lap time at VIR. I have seen other articles that said it was faster on track than the Mustang Boss Laguna Seca, which this test backed up. It also undercuts the Boss Mustang on price, so my hat's off to Chevy from a cost/performance perspective.

That's great, but there's more to a car than the numbers.

So in other words, no matter what factual information is presented, you will continue to argue against the existence of the new Camaro.

Thanks for saying that.
If you don't like it, just say that. Don't say it's crap and then tell us that the tests are meaningless.
I'm not really sure I like it, even over the Boss, but I can't image 90% of the owners of every car beneath it on that list would enjoy getting spanked by a stock Camaro at a road course... Awesome work, bowtie boys.

This. The 1LE is a fantastic performance car for the money. All the rest is subjective.
I was recently reading the 1LE vs GT Track Pack comparison in Motor Trend, and the accelleration figures were identical, but the braking was slightly worse in the Mustang, and at about a minute a lap, the 1LE was about 3 seconds a lap faster than the Track Pack Mustang GT. OTOH, the Camaro was wearing 285/20 Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G2s and the Mustang was wearing 255 Pirelli P Zero Silvers (not even Rossos or Corsas) and if those tires are anything like the P Zeros that came stock on my own GT, they SUCK for grip in both braking and lateral Gs. I'd like to see how the lap times and braking compare when equipped with identical tires.

Those are really OTHER words, like in NOT WHAT I SAID other. I didn't say it was crap, and I never said that numbers are meaningless. You're both taking what I said to an extreme, which of course is obviously NOT what I meant. I can bolt a 1500hp engine in a go kart and get great acceleration numbers, but that doesn't mean it makes a good daily driver. All I said is there's more to a car than numbers. You know, how it drives, how it looks, it's price, driving satisfaction, reliability.... I would think guys like you would know this.
I'd love to see the same lightning lap comparison where every car was shod by the same level of tire IE all Extreme performance summer at least
