VW of America...the folks who thought we would rather have the Eos instead of the Scirroco. Of course, they are also the folks who thought we'd buy Phaetons in big numbers.

The last thing I read about it was literally "At this time, there are no plans to bring the Scirocco to the U.S." I stopped caring at that moment.

Have you heard something different?

I was in Germany last month driving the S63 AMG, and the "new" Smart. Of course, we were in the Smart when we spotted this gorgeous black VW hatch, no badges, dark tinted glass...we realized it was the Scirocco. I mashed the pedal in hopes to catch it. The driver finally realized we were checking out his car, two of us peering over in this silly Smart that's ready to self-destruct on the Autobahn, so he slowed down and gave us the thumbs up. Damn, that's one sexy little car.

Owning an older VW is the same way but you get showered with oil also.

I've seen it in person while in Europe. It doesn't do anything for me. I'd rather have something RWD or something with a bit more utility like the GTI.
