yeah, ricey...
There is a white sharpie that a few hot rod guys swear by. I want to say that I had some leftover tile paint with epoxy that I used back in the day that worked well on piecut retreads.
White plasti-dip might actually work decently well.
In reply to wearymicrobe:
You know, I was wondering about plasti-dip myself. Did my street wheels on the MR2, and the areas I didn't treat with tire shine had a hard time coming off. Hmm.

So have a set of Hoosiers like this and I want to buy some more in 225-55-14 but I want the stencil for the ricer in me for Hoosiers in 14. I don't suppose there is a template for that floating out there?
You'd have to DIY it somehow, and with the curvature of the tire it would be serious graphics work.
I can't find pics but I'm reading reports that DIY plasti-dip whitewalls look good and hold up well, could be worth a try.
I can't quite tell from the picture, but I'm guessing those are dot R's and not true slicks. I don't know of a template for the Hoosier logo.
I know I'm a ricer but it;s on a 73 240. I think it'll go nicely. I'll shade the raised letters with a piece of paper, cut the stencil out then use white plastidip and see how it goes.

Well they are 225/50/ZR14
For those who care, this looks pretty good. I'll try this sometime:

Wait, you can't apply Armor All & similar after you do that? Not even the spray-on stuff? Plasti-Dip stands up to those protective coatings.

Do you know if you can buy white plastidip in single cans at Autozone or the like? I've seen black but never looked for white.
They say they make white spray cans. Check their Where to Buy page:

Cool, apparently Wally World has it. I'll check tonight.
All I have to add to this is that raised white letter tires on any car or truck built before the mid eighties Isint ricey. Its period correct.
And the NASCAR tires are bad a$$ too.
In truth I'm a bit surprised that there are so few raised & colored tires, most of the big league race tires have it, and you would think the manufacturers would to spreed thier performance tire image as much as possible. Could you imagine Nike or Adidas always having a much less conspicuous logo on over the shelf versions of the equipment the pro athletes use?
Plastidip works! Grips the rubber really well , just hope it holds up. And yes I know I know I'm a ricer but I REALLY wanted white letters for the Z.
Looks good and I don't think it'll look ricey on the Fubaru (oh wait it's for the 240Z? Maybe a little ).
I see you traced around the lettering that was already on the tire, can't wait to see how it holds up.

It will be a long while before the Fubaru is on a track. The 240Z I'd like to do something with it THIS year.
You'll need to log in to post.
