meh....the lights are an improvement, as are are the flared fenders, as is the powertrain.
but those wheels are destined to end up where three-spoke wheel ended up..in the laughing-stock of history. So ugly. And they don't look terribly strong to me.
And the car overall still looks bad, and still looks like a machine-gun bunker with those tiny windows.
I wish they'd stop just throwing power at things to make them faster. Make the camaro 80% the size it is now, and only 350hp, and I'll be much more impressed.

I'm really glad that there are people working inside GM that really get it and are allowed to work on vehicles. The corvette is great. This is great. Let those guys loose on other products in the lineup. Hell, give them the turbo motor out of the Cruze and a RWD transmission and see what sort of small car they can build. The engineering talent is there, I just want too see it applied to a $25k small sports car. They did a damn fine job with the solstice, do it again.
This is what has always driven me nuts about GM. They have some brilliant engineers. They've proven over and over they have brains behind the scenes that "get it", but they've also proven over and over, that management and bean counters have made terrible decisions leading to crap products as a baseline.
Take the Cobalt SS turbo sedan for example. Brilliant engineers took that tupperware wonder and made it into a competition slaying ass kicker on the track... but it was still a Cobalt, so it didn't set the world on fire.
This current Camaro was a pig, overweight, and had crap handling dynamics when introduced. Again, engineers have worked freaking magic making the pig dance, created the ZL1, the 1LE, and now this Z28 which seem to have track monster credentials... but again set inside a cartoon body with poor visibility and hardpoints that can't be modified.
The new ATS and CTS give me hope that some better engineering/design implementation is on the horizon. If the next Camaro can come in true to form a little lighter, a better greenhouse, and hell just equivalent handling and drivetrain options, it'll be ready to take on anything in the sports/pony car world.
I have a feeling both the next gen Mustang and the next gen Camaro will be at least slightly more appealing to the GRM crowd. Regardless, I'd love to have a go with one of these (assuming I fit... I'm 6'2") at a trackday in the future.
Damn those taillights make a huge difference. I like it.
Oh and the wheels on the show car don't look THAT bad.
God bless them for making cars with this level of go fast! Is it perfect? Heck no. Buts it is still freakin WONDERFUL compared to what passed for a performance car for years...
I like it but it's just too big. As is the Challenger and to a lesser extent the Mustang. I don't want to be a hater as I think it's probably one heck of a car but it needs to be BRG/FRS size. Then it wouldn't need 500 hp...........just 300. OK 350.

Do not like that
I can't be the only one getting a "Volt" vibe from that pic.

Well that's surprising considering just about everyone complained about the Camaro taillights to begin with.
In reply to SyntheticBlinkerFluid:
I didn't

I stand corrected-prelude it is!

I have seen one of these before somewhere....
looks more like integra taillights

you probably don't like it because that's likely the only view you will see of one if you ever encounter one in the wild..
and everyone that says that the looks of this "new" Camaro is an improvement over the "old" one needs to remember that this is still the "old" Camaro with a few cosmetic tweaks and a hand-me-down drivetrain from the Corvette. the new headlights and taillights are probably good hints to what the all new one looks like when it comes out in a couple of years- it's supposed to be smaller and lighter, with more power and better fuel economy..

that's what I first thought.
that said, I think the taillights are a huge step up over the old ones.

While I'm sure this will be true (with engine technology advances), I have to laugh that anyone would even bother to mention "better fuel economy" on a car with 500+hp. (also realizing that every little bit helps with CAFE).
It's like saying "my next girlfriend will be a supermodel, and oh by the way she is really good at knitting."

Um....no. I actually believe this will be the view I will see most in the wild.
followed by this...
Then by this...
I foresee seeing them from every angle.
But I really like the spindly rims. Reminds me of OZ Superleggeraasdassssssssuuuuuuuuuuuuuiiiiiiiiilasdfas
So I suspect if that is an option I will see some like this.
me no likey new tail lights :( This car though...the Z28 so much want. Any guesses on price tag? zl1 is what 55? 1LE is 39? That puts the Z28 right around 47.
With all the nods to the past, what that thing really needs is a built 5.3 that will rev to 9,000.

a 500hp car that can get 30+ mpg if you drive it right isn't a big deal to you?
it's the best of everything..
Looks better than last years Camaro.
But I still don't "like" it.
Seems GM was trying for Darth Vader but ended up with Hello Kitty.
Scott
I like the tweaks for this year, and the 427 is a good idea.
The Z/28 is more appealing than the ZL1 to me.
Still don't like the lack of outward visibility, 700 lbs more than it should weigh, blah-blah-blah.
Here's to the 2016 gen 6!

Scaling a Camaro down to that size would also mean they'd have to change the name to Monza.

If this facelift is on the regular camaro I may just be able to tolerate the car. The transformers 1980s japan styling that they were going for initially wore off quick.
