Scaling a Camaro down to that size would also mean they'd have to change the name to Monza.

Ewwwwww. I think I just threw up a little.

These look like a pretty slim spoke wheel considering the rubber it's carrying, and the brakes they're containing.

Don't let reality get in the way of the GM hate in this building.....

I like it. It's a step in the right direction. Now shrink it down 20%, keep the same powertrain and boom.

meh, I see it as an evolution of this in terms of taillight inspiration (three chambered rectangle with reverse in the middle).

In the street, nobody is going to mistake this thing for a Prelude.

Reality? I like it a lot and those are 50lbs wheel + tire.

I would still want a radio.

I love it. If it really is seconds faster around a road course than the already competent ZL1, stand by to have even more euro/asian hearts broken as a domestic coupe lays them to waste.

Hilarious.

Rule No.1 on GRM forum: It must go fast and look good.

Rule No.2: Unless it's a GM product. Then it just sucks no matter how much better it is than it's intended competition.

Amen. GM can release a 300hp, 2100lb rwd coupe with a perfect weight balance, the smallest wheels to fit over 13" brakes, a fantastic 6-spd transmission and sell it for $11,000 and people here would still bitch about it. It's sad really.

Nope, rule one for a GRM car purchase is that it should be old, odd, and cheap.

Umm on I think any manufacture could release a car like that and some people on here would bitch about it. I plenty of people bitch about the FRS or Fiesta ST or pretty much any performance car that comes out for one reason or another. Anyway I think most of the complaints here are about the lack of visibility or lack of space on the inside which in my experience is true in the Camaro. Not hating on GM for no reason.

I personally like the direction GM is going and they producing a lot of great cars. I am glad they are producing a car like this with the stripped out nature (aka optional A/C, no radio, etc) but if I had the money I wouldn't buy cause it feels so claustrophobic. It seems to me that is a valid complaint.

I kind of like them. If I were shopping for a new neo-pony car, I would want to at least test drive one. Of course my 6yo son would insist on a BumbleBee clone

Probably a 93 civic lol. I didn't have a problem with the Camaro at all, then again I have a few cars with pretty bad visibility and/or terrible blind spots, so I just adjust based on what I'm driving.

I think the worst car I've had for visibility was the Swift GT with the fixed Corbeau racing seat. Those side wings for the head blocked EVERYTHING, sitting about 4" off the road surface didn't help. When a Pontiac Vibe passed me, it looked like a suburban.

Ok the Scirocco has terrible visibility because of that same thing and roll bar and no interior mirror but it is a track toy. But it also doesn't feel claustrophobic. The small windows and really high beltline make the Camaro feel like I am trapped. It is the same reason I wouldn't own a Miata. It is fine with the top down but sucks with the top up.

In reply to Giant Purple Snorklewacker:

50lb wheel =/= 50lb wheel + tire

It's always best to say what you mean, and mean what you say. The latter is far less dramatic than the former. They already have carbon ceramic brakes and aluminum calipers, albeit rather large ones, to help keep unsprung weight down. I'm not sure how much smaller (lighter) they realistically could have gone on the wheel/tire package and still have the same on track capabilities for this car. Hell, most Miatae on 205/50-15's still have a 30-35lb wheel/tire combo...Which are fitted brakes that would be lucky to properly make it through a single hard stop from speed on this Camaro.

Let those guys loose on other products in the lineup. Hell, give them the turbo motor out of the Cruze and a RWD transmission and see what sort of small car they can build. The engineering talent is there, I just want too see it applied to a $25k small sports car. They did a damn fine job with the solstice, do it again.

This!!!

GM NEEDS to build a 300hp, boosted 2 liter ecotoec powered, RWD, tiny and tossable competitor to the Miata.

Keep touchscreen cup warmers and whizbang facetweets out of the dash, and gaaasp manual locks and windows, and it could even come in under $15k, let alone weigh under 2500 lbs.

Recipe for instant win, just add gas? I think so!!
